Fasting Mimicking Diet Day 5

It’s the final day of the fasting mimicking diet. This is how it’s gone and how I’m feeling.

Fasting Mimicking Diet Day 5

After five days of very low-calorie dieting, the overall feeling is that I’m ready for it to be done so I can eat real food again. That said, it has been an excellent learning experience, and it appears that my body responded well.

So far, I’ve lost 7 pounds and may lose even more by tomorrow morning. I will also perform a body composition test at that weigh-in to determine how much fat versus muscle and water I lost. I suspect most of the weight loss was water, but I have noticed a significant tightening in the waistline as well.

Glucose levels increased slightly this morning but were still within the healthy range. Ketones continued their steady climb of 0.2 mg/dL each day, putting me within optimal ketosis levels.

Yesterday afternoon and evening, the hunger started kicking in more, and I even became a tad irritable. However, this morning, the hunger was not bad at all, with decent satiation from the breakfast and lunch meals.

I expect this afternoon and evening to be more challenging as the snack is tea without any calories, and the dinner is only soup. Since it’s the final night, I think I can muster up the willpower to push through any minor discomfort.
