Fasting Mimicking Diet Day 4

The fourth day of the fasting mimicking diet has been the hardest so far. Here’s how it went.

Fasting Mimicking Diet Day 4

This morning, My dry weight was down to 170.4 pounds, another pound down from yesterday and 6.3 pounds in four days. I suspect I’ve burned through nearly all of my body’s glycogen stores so the weight loss may slow.

From a metabolic standpoint, my blood glucose level was about as low as I’ve ever seen it at 78 mg/dL. This is another sign that my body is out of carbs to burn. Also, my ketone level went up and is well within the ketosis range.

The meal plan still hasn’t reached an uncomfortable level of hunger. Sure, I’m hungry, and TV food commercials look more appetizing than usual, but it’s tolerable overall.

I will say the food choices have started getting repetitive, so I’m getting tired of eating soup and drinking tea. Also, I don’t enjoy eating olives, and some days, I have a double serving of those.

This is the second day in a row at just over 700 calories. You’re not supposed to work out or be too active during the fasting period, so I’ve taken the week off from the gym. Although I am still going for leisurely walks.

I started to notice some fatigue walking up hills in the neighborhood this morning, and random muscles feel sore for no reason. However, these issues are minor, so I’m not alarmed.

On the positive side, my sleep has been much better the last few nights, according to my Oura ring. Also, my resting heart rate tied a record low, indicating my body is relaxed.

Overall, I feel like this rejuvenation period will be beneficial for making new progress in the gym next week. Tomorrow is the final day of the fasting-mimicking plan, so check back for the wrap-up.
