Fall Bulk Day 58
We made it through Christmas without getting too fat. Now it’s time to put a bow on this bulking phase.
Today is day 58 of the bulk; technically, the eight weeks ended on day 56. But I decided to continue the bulk to the end of December at 61 days.
Thanks to some leftover chicken and wild rice soup from Christmas, I’ve been getting a lot of protein for the last two days. We also meal-prepped a bunch of steak and chicken breast before the holiday.
My carbs have been a bit more moderate than they had in some of the prior weeks. And I’ve noticed my body doesn’t look or feel as bloated this way.
Here are my nutrition numbers from Day 58.
Nutrient | Amount |
---|---|
Protein | 310 g (38%) |
Carbs | 323 g (39%) |
Fat | 84 g (23%) |
Calories In | +3,288 |
Calories Out | -2,770 |
Calorie Surplus | +518 (19%) |
Yesterday, my calorie surplus was 19%, at the higher end of my target range. Most recent days were somewhere between a 10% and 15% surplus.
Still, it seems like my body soaked it up as I woke up tighter again today. The 30-minute fasted walks around the neighborhood have helped in that regard, too.
Resistance training workout volume is also up, as I’ve added more total sets per muscle group to take advantage of the bulking meal plan. My chest workout consisted of dumbbell incline presses, dips, machine flies, and push-ups.
Water intake has been steady at 3.5 liters or just under a gallon a day. I’ve also been taking an electrolyte powder drink mix during my workouts to help with hydration.
My current weight is 178.8 pounds, and I expect it to creep back up to 180 by the end of the week. Stay tuned for my final bulk transformation and what I’m up to next!
