Fall Bulk Day 5

Yesterday was a very active day, including a 1.7-mile run for fasted cardio and a 48-minute weightlifting workout. As a result, I burned almost 3,000 calories and came up a little short on my surplus. But that’s okay!
Here are yesterday’s numbers.
Protein | 254 g (34%) |
Carbs | 280 g (37%) |
Fat | 95 g (29%) |
Calories In | +2,991 |
Calories Out | -2,961 |
Calorie Surplus | +30 (1%) |
My cumulative calorie surplus for the week is still sitting at +6%, which is right on target. And this is an example of why I focus on long-term averages.
If you stress out about being perfect on your diet and workouts every day, your goal will become a chore. But when you zoom out and look at a week or a month, you have so much more freedom to adapt every day.
Today is my weekly rest day, and it will also be a lower-calorie and carb day. So, I fully expect my weight to drop some going into the next week, but letting my body rest and reset is more important in the long run.
