Fall Bulk Day 41
My weight was up over the weekend, so Sunday was a lower calorie and lower carb day to reset my appetite.
For three straight days, my weight was a bulking season-high of 177.7 pounds. So I decided to do a relatively low carb rest day to reset my insulin sensitivity and take a break from the large surplus.
I had planned to also be in a small deficit, but I ate a little more than I thought and ended up with a 5% surplus, which is fine. Here are my nutrition numbers from day 41.
Nutrient | Amount |
---|---|
Protein | 158 g (26%) |
Carbs | 174 g (29%) |
Fat | 121 g (45%) |
Calories In | +2,417 |
Calories Out | -2,309 |
Calorie Surplus | +108 (5%) |
Typically, I would do even lower carbs, but we got a new Belgian waffle maker and just had to test it out. Those waffles were well worth the extra carbs.
We also meal-prepped some chicken and veggies on the grill to make it easier to stick to a healthy diet during the rest of the week. Dinner was grilled chicken with peppers and zucchini.
Despite the slight surplus, my Monday morning weigh-in was back down to 176.1 pounds. I expected a significant drop with the reduced carbs and calories, so it was no surprise.
For the rest of the week, I will be back to the 15-20% surplus, and I should see my weight climb back to 177 and hopefully even higher from there.
Stay tuned for my weekly review and additional bulking pointers later this week!
