Fall Bulk Day 33

It doesn’t happen often, but day 33 was spent recovering from a hangover. See how I rebound from a night out to maintain my gains.

Fall Bulk Day 33 Weight

After Friday’s wedding celebration, my wife and I woke up with pretty bad hangovers. So Saturday was a rest and recovery day.

I started with an electrolyte powder mixed into a liter of water because morning-after symptoms result from dehydration. I also took two ibuprofen, and within an hour, I was starting to feel better.

It was still a slow start to the day, and we weren’t focused as much on clean eating as we were on getting carbs and calories to replenish our energy. So we went out to eat and split a sandwich and appetizer. A “hair of the dog” Bloody Mary also added needed sodium.

Once we returned home, I got back to meal plan foods and pounded water to replenish my fluids. However, activity was minimal, so I didn’t have to eat much for a modest surplus.

Here are my nutrition numbers from Day 33.

NutrientAmount
Protein164 g (27%)
Carbs286 g (47%)
Fat73 g (27%)
Calories In+2,457
Calories Out-2,215
Calorie Surplus+242 (11%)

As expected, my weight rebounded significantly, and I gained more water weight than I lost the previous day. At 177.2 pounds, it was a new high for this bulk phase.

However, I know the body overcompensated with rehydration after severe dehydration. So, I fully expect my weight to return to where it was last week once it stabilizes.

Hopefully, once the dust settles, I will maintain my week-to-week weight increase and continue to be on pace with my bulking goals.

Fall Bulk Day 30

Tomorrow should be a full day back on the bulking plan, including a workout. I’m excited to get back to the routine and continue progressing!
