Fall Bulk Day 29
Getting back in a rhythm with the bulking routine, and the scale seems to have stabilized. Now it’s time to hit the accelerator.

For the last two days, I’ve been back in the eating, working, and training routine. And I’ve noticed my body is getting fuller and tighter simultaneously.
This is typically a response to clean eating where subcutaneous (extracellular) water gets flushed out or pulled into the muscle cells (intracellular). As a result, you look less puffy and more healthy.
Despite being in a decent surplus, my meal plan has consisted of about 90% clean foods for the past two days. Here are my nutrition numbers for Day 29.
Nutrient | Amount |
---|---|
Protein | 246 g (33%) |
Carbs | 335 g (45%) |
Fat | 73 g (22%) |
Calories In | +2,981 |
Calories Out | -2,579 |
Calorie Surplus | +402 (16%) |
My macro ratios and calorie surplus percentage were almost identical to yesterday’s. I also drank the same amount of water at around 3.5 liters.
So I expected my scale weight to increase by a fraction of a pound again today, but it dropped back down a half pound.
Regardless, this is not totally unexpected, as my body adjusts to being back on a different sleep schedule and workout routine. As long as my weight doesn’t drop again, I’ll also keep aiming for a roughly 15% calorie surplus for tomorrow.
