Fall Bulk Day 2 Check In

Today is day two of the bulk, and I’m still overcoming the initial hurdle of mental resistance to change. This is the part of any new routine that can be hard to get past.

The key, in my experience, is to keep reminding yourself of your goal. This gives your mind something to focus on instead of worrying about what’s different.

It’s also important not to overwhelm yourself with too many rules or restrictions. For example, my wife was craving Domino’s pizza and wanted to share delivery for dinner.

While fast food is not something I recommend eating routinely on any meal plan, it’s okay on occasion. I simply made sure I still hit my macros and calories for the day.

As a rule of thumb, I aim to stick to my diet plan 90% of the time, whether that’s 9 out of 10 days or 900 out of 1,000 calories. This simple guideline allows freedom and flexible food choices while still making progress toward your fitness goal.

I hit a calorie surplus of 2% today, which was slightly lower than my target of 5% more than I burned. But my weight is still up 1.5 lbs from the start, so that’s good!
