Fall Bulk Day 17
All is well in Fall Bulk land and we are back on track to reach the final goal.
Well, my weight took another big jump up to 175.4 lbs this morning for a total of 4.4 lbs gained so far. And puts us above the trendline and ahead of schedule to reach the goal of 180 lbs by the end of the year!
Day 17’s meal plan was back to the baseline calorie intake with a 5% surplus. Protein, carbs, and fat were right on target as well.
Here are my nutrition numbers for November 17th, 2023.
Nutrient | Amount |
---|---|
Protein | 222 g (33%) |
Carbs | 315 g (46%) |
Fat | 64 g (21%) |
Calories In | +2,724 |
Calories Out | -2,603 |
Calorie Surplus | +121 (5%) |
The last 6 days have been an interesting example of how your weight can naturally fluctuate on a day-to-day basis. And it’s vital not to overreact to the scale in the short term.
Instead, I stuck to the plan and even reduced calories while my weight was trending down. And I was rewarded with new gains when I returned to the planned moderate calorie surplus.
As a result, I am sticking with an average weekly surplus in the single digits as long as my weight continues to climb. This is the best approach for gaining muscle without putting on excess fat.
For now, I’ll be sticking with what’s working, and I’ll check in again tomorrow to let you know how it goes!
